Solid wood countertops

Wood is a natural material that, with regular care, only becomes more beautiful over time. A custom-made solid wood kitchen countertop radiates warmth and creates a pleasant atmosphere in the room.

Wood is a renewable material that can be repaired and refinished. Variations in color and structure are a natural phenomenon and emphasize the natural origin of the material. They occur during the growth and aging of the tree, and also depend on the conditions and location of its growth.

We use the following materials:

  • oak;
  • ash.

Interesting information

Brinell hardness of wood (N/mm²):

  • European maple — 26–34;
  • smoky acacia — 36–42;
  • bamboo caramel — 42–53;
  • beech — 28–40;
  • European cherry — 28–31;
  • American walnut — 25–28;
  • oak — 23–42.

Construction of 60 and 80 mm thick slabs

Solid wood countertops with a thickness of 60 mm or 80 mm on the front edge are made by doubling the plank with the longitudinal direction of the fibers - 30+30 mm or 40+40 mm.

The sidewalls are finished with a cross-cut strip. A «rough» strip is used on the back edge, which is attached 2 cm from the edge of the countertop. This is necessary to facilitate installation and adjustment of the countertop.

Additional elements are installed between the slats to avoid sagging and increase the rigidity of the structure.

Increasing structural rigidity

Depending on the size and shape of the countertop, T-shaped metal profiles can be installed on the back. Their number and location are determined individually.
